wisdm is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information. By using the wisdm platform, whether as a participant or a practitioner, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Participants
Participant information includes any information by which you may be personally identified or contacted. This may include:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Mailing address
We may also collect information you provide when you interact with the platform, such as search queries, saved practitioners, and communication preferences.It is always your choice whether or not to provide identifiable information. If you choose not to provide requested participant information, you may not be able to use certain features of the wisdm platform.
Practitioners
Practitioner information includes any information by which you disclose to us for the purposes of creating or claiming a practitioner listing on wisdm. This may include:
- Full name and professional name (if applicable)
- Contact information, including email address, phone number, and business address
- Location and service area
- Specialties
- Credentials and certifications
- Clinical philosophy and practice description
- Clinic photos and other images you choose to upload
- Website and social media links
- Any additional information you include in your profile
If you apply for wisdm verification, we also collect information about your training, years in practice, and approach to care, as well as information gathered from your publicly available online presence.
It is always your choice whether or not to provide identifiable information. If you choose not to provide requested participant information, you may not be able to use certain features of the wisdm platform.
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit the wisdm platform, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
- IP address and general location data
- Browser type and device information
- Pages visited and time spent on the platform
- Referring URLs
- Interaction data such as clicks and searches
This information is collected through cookies and analytics tools. See Section 4 for more information about cookies.
2. How We Use Your Information
We will only use your information when the law allows. Except as described in this Privacy Policy, all information will be kept confidential and used to support your relationship with us. We may use your information to:
- Create and maintain your account or practitioner profile
- Connect participants with practitioners through the directory
- Deliver and improve the educational content platform
- Process and review practitioner verification applications
- Communicate with you about your account, listing, or platform updates
- Respond to inquiries and provide support
- Analyze platform usage to improve the user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information to serve you third-party advertising.
3. How We Share Your Information
Practitioner Profiles
Practitioner profile information, including name, location, specialties, credentials, philosophy, and photos, is displayed publicly on the wisdm directory. This is the core function of your listing. If you do not wish for this information to be publicly visible, do not create a listing.
Service Providers
We may share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform, including analytics providers, hosting services, and communications tools. These providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of wisdm, our users, or others.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Cookies and Analytics
wisdm uses cookies (small text files stored on your device) to support platform functionality and to understand how the platform is being used. Cookies allow us to remember your preferences, analyze traffic patterns, and improve your experience.
We also use third-party analytics tools to collect aggregated data about platform usage. These tools may collect information such as pages visited, time spent on the platform, and general geographic location based on IP address.
You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect certain platform features. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account or listing is active, or as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. If you request deletion of your account or listing, we will remove your personal information within a reasonable time, subject to any legal or operational requirements that necessitate retention.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information, including:
- The right to access the information we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- The right to request deletion of your information
- The right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- The right to opt out of certain data uses

7. Children's Privacy
The wisdm platform is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect. However, no system is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account and to notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Third-Party Links
The wisdm platform may contain links to third-party websites, including practitioner websites. Please be aware that other websites and platforms, including the websites of third parties that you connect with through the wisdm platform, may collect information about you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised policy on the platform and update the effective date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as an email notification. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
